    Hi there,

first of all I want to thank you for this great plugin. It’s works fine, but I have a little problem. That moment I activated Exifography it also showed me the Exifdata on mouse-hover and at the prettyphoto Image-Popup-Window (Lightbox), next to the Socialbuttons. But now, I don’t why, it doesn’t work like this anymore. Do you have any ideas what I have to do?

Link to one of my gallerys: http://ziemann-photoart.de/?page_id=77

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards
    Kim

    Hey,
Exigography doesn’t automatically do that. In order for it to show on hover and in the lightbox the shortcode must have been in the title attribute of the image… If you weren’t manually putting the shortcode in the HTML, did you recently change theme or anything like that where you might have had a function that was adding the shortcode into the title attribute?

I recently tried a lot of things to hide the image alt-tag, but I don’t remember any function which worked successfully. The theme haven’t been changed.

So if I have to add a shortcode, what is the shortcode and where do I have to add it?

Is this normaly not supported with your plugin? I tried diffrent plugins before, but none of them worked fine.

    (Sorry for my bad english!!!)

No, the plugin has never automatically done what you’re referring to, so I can’t really say why it would have stopped working if it did work before.

The code you need depends on how your galleries are created…
If it’s a proper WordPress gallery using the [gallery] shortcode you can use this tutorial: http://www.kristarella.com/2012/09/exif-in-wordpress-gallery-image-titles/
If you enter the images individually into the post or page then you need to use the Text editor when writing the post or page and after you have inserted the image you need to change
title="Some text title of your image"
    to
    title="[exif id='111']"
You can find out more about the shortcode on the documentation page: http://www.kristarella.com/exifography/#shortcode

If your theme is generating the gallery some other way, then I’m not sure (without looking at the theme code) what the solution is. The gallery tutorial above might still work in that case, but it depends what else the theme does to output the images.

I think I “fixed” it. Now the img-title is named like the gallery and if you click on the image-post to open the image due the lightbox, it will be also shown as the image description (above the socialbuttons).

I just disabled the lightbox option “show title and description” …

    Many thanks for your support!
