No input file specified (2 posts)

Hi, my problem is that I am getting "No input file specified" for everything I try to view, straight after doing an 'import from Blogger' where I seemed to have imported old posts from an oldish weblog.

(I had moved from version 1.5 yesterday to version 2.0 to version 2.01 -- Confession: I had forgot to first ftp to my site and empty the Cache in Wp-contents; I did that later on.)

At first, in admin mode, I could see the imported posts listed neatly in the archives section (by month). I began to delete the blank files, but then gradually other pages including the admin pages like Manage, and Write, began delivering "No input file specified".

Yes I quickly backed up, logged in and emptied the cache, but still now, if I view the site as if I were a visitor, I get a plain vanilla site with no template...

Before I take another step could someone please put me right? Thanks.

    A success story:

-- I had successfully upgraded to 2.0.1 and had gone wrong when importing older Blogger posts. Blank pages, or No input file specified, or server error messages ...

Having battled with this problem for days and having had no response to my posts to this forum, I finally gave up.

Then today, having read random posts here, I

    a) created a very small .htaccess file,
    b) tired different browsers (FIrefox, Mozilla, Safari)
    c) found that if I pressed refresh twice, I could see my admin pages (without any template but at least I knew something was alive ... )

I backed up the databases again, and deleted via FTP all the WORDPRESS files off the server. And I reinstalled WORDPRESS one final time.

    Already installed, I was told.
I might add I used SAFARI instead of Firefox 1.5 at this point, refreshing the login screen from one of the screens still open on the desktop

And voila, there was everything but I could only see it after logging in with a very old admin password from the 1.5 install!

Some things I am not going to do this time round:
    * fiddle with permalinks
    * fiddle with importing blogger posts

And I am going to back up and back up ...

I do hope this helps someone technical to sort out things with 2.x because from reading these forums I would say there is some backend work to do perhaps, though I realise you probably have a critical mass of users and not enough technies at hand or kind enough to offer their support.
