I've tried nearly everything to get this to work including enabling full text feed and some plugins but I can't seem to get the feed to display the article images.

Is is the default setting on WP to disable images?....I've seen other people's WordPress sites and when I check their feeds, interestingly, the images show up fine.

    Can someone help?

much better, first thing I see is that your feed is only displaying excerpts.

I spose I should go load this in a feed reader now huh? meh.

your feeds show images loaded into a feedreader. dont use that url as any kind of basis for what your feeds are displaying.

feeds are meant to read by feed readers, not humans and not browsers.

Well, right I wasn't going simply by that because that's just an excerpt, but tried it with a Joomla feed reader to display it on the home page of my site; I enabled images and everything but it won't show up. Of course, I could presume that it's an issue with the module, but it seems to work fine with other feeds in displaying images. Check out my home page and you'll see the feed displayed on the front page....it only displays text.

Any idea what else it could be?

As I said, I looked at your feed using google feedreader and saw images within your post. If another feedreader or some Joomla component isnt showing the images, I suspect its their issue, and not whats going on with your wordpress install.

Ok here's the deal, I have enabled full content syndication for troubleshooting purposes. What google feed reader is doing is merely displaying the whole content body. It's not specifically reading the image field or anything....so unless I'm trying to aggregate the whole content, the image will likely not show up in any feed reader.

if you search the forums, youre going to read pretty much the same stuff --

most feedreaders render html tags just fine. if you are using a image within a post and its within whatever you happen to be displaying, ie the_content, the_excerpt, etc.. it6 shows up. I believe there's as similar response when images are used before the more tag, I cant remember the specifics.

There are also reports of trouble with images that are inserted using custom fields -- issues may be resolved, I dont know.

As I said i saw images in your feeds.

What exactly is the problem that you are having that you believe is wordpress-based? Im not trying to be difficult -- your title says " No images being displayed in RSS feeds" and I see images inside your feeds. :) so from where I stand, this is a non-issue.

Well obviously if the full content is syndicated, it will inevitably show the images, but now that I have disabled full text and made it a summary, you can't see the images. Is that how it's supposed to be?

In addition to that, check out any popular wordpress blog and view it directly through firefox, it will show the image in the excerpt. It won't in mine. That's not to say that what firefox (or ie) displays with the built in feed reader is something to go by because ff does truncate feeds, but at the very least if it will display other wp feeds, I'd expect it to likewise display mine.

    any clue?

Excerpt doesn't show images. In fact, I think it strips image code.

    So ... yeah.

Ok well I re-enabled full-text....but how can I get feed readers to display images. The thing is, I want the feed readers to only display excerpts. what I want to use this for is to display my wordpress articles on the front page of the joomla root domain and the most practical way of doing this is thru rss...unless there is a better alternative.

Ok here's the deal. I decided to look at the xml structure of the feed and here's the deal. The reason why Images aren't being displayed has nothing to do with the availability of fulltext or the lack thereof. The full text part is being displayed in the "content" field, and as would be expected, has the image along with the rest of the content. What most rss feed readers look at isn't the content field but the 'description'. WordPress does not display any images in the description field of the feed so most feed readers won't see it.

I'm gonna see if I can modify the my feed reader to read the "content" field instead of description; unless, of course, someone here knows how to modify WP to display images in the description field...

I won't cross my fingers though. I've posted at least 6 or more questions on this forum and not once have I gotten a solution for any.

lol wow, talk about redundancy. I didn't even realize I say "here's the deal" so much. Must be the writing because I know I don't do it colloquially
