Really love SV. It works well When the gallery is viewed on windows or Mac, but it just shows "no image specified in gallery xml" with a black background when I access it by iPad, I don't know what's going wrong, do I miss sth during setup for the mobile os support? In addition, I test the demo on your website with iPad, http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/examples/modern/ can be viewed,
but http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/examples/compact/ just shows the same issue with me.

WP-SimpleViewer galleries support mobile devices out-of-the-box.
No steps need to be taken in order for WP-SimpleViewer galleries to be displayed on mobile devices.

There does seem to be a problem with the 'compact' demo gallery but it looks like a problem with Flickr settings rather than with SimpleViewer itself.

Please note that all gallery files must be on the same domain (or subdomain) as the HTML page containing the gallery's embedding code.
If your access your web site with a URL such as example.com and the links within the embedding code refer to a subdomain of example.com (such as http://www.example.com, then the gallery will fail to display).

If this does not help, then please let me know what version of WP-SimpleViewer you use (the current version in v2.3.2.1) and post the URL to your gallery so that I can take a look and investigate further.

    Hi steven,

    Really appreciate your quick response.

I'll show you the information for your kind reference. my WP version is V.3.5.1, WP-SimpleViewer version is up-to-date version : V2.3.2.1.

And actually, recently there are two kinds of gallery files resource in the website.
    same domain gallery link: http://www.whoswho.tk/archives/795.
another is on the Flickr: http://www.whoswho.tk/archives/837.
neither of the two gallery works on ipad(PC ok). (encode in Chinese, hope you can well understand. )

Or I guess the mobile device support funtion is a purchase option? like WP-VP Pro?

    Thank you very much.

No. SimpleViewer-Standard supports mobile devices and it is not necessary to purchase SimpleViewer-Pro for a gallery to be displayed on a mobile device.

Thank you for providing the URLs to your galleries.
You seem to have two different problems.

    (1) The XML declaration in your gallery's XML file should be at the very top of the document but it is not.
Try opening the 'wp-simpleviewer/gallery.php' file in a plain text editor and change line 136 to:
    echo $new_dom_doc->saveXML($new_settings_tag);

    (2) Your second gallery displays the 'Flickr Images Not Found' message.
Try temporarily removing the Flickr tags from your gallery's settings to see if this makes a difference (and displays all your images).

    Hi steven,

Thank you for your investigation and advice.

You seem to have two different problems.

    (1) That solved the problem. now the galleries can display on the mobile, Thanks a lot. By the way, about the XML declaration issue, is it just me, or it is a common problem?

    (2) Yep, I encountered the problem several times,Probably because I generated the xml file before uploading the images with tags to Flickr(misoperation). When I finished the uploading, i just re-edited the gallery settings and saved without changing any settings, so it still don't work, I have to delete it and rebuilt a new gallery.
"temporarily removing the Flickr tags" can make it work, it really helps a lot.

    Thanks again

I know of only one other user who has experienced this issue and I cannot replicate it myself.
I do not know the cause of the problem though I suspect it may have something to do with the version of PHP installed on the web server.
However, the fix will be included in the next version of WP-SimpleViewer.

This should not make a difference and you should not need to adjust the gallery's files after uploading your images to Flickr but if using Flickr tags, it may take a while before they propagate fully through Flickr's system and for the images to show up in API searches (such as that performed by WP-SimpleViewer to fetch the images from Flickr's servers).
