   I'm trying to add the "Tweet" button to my blog but when I go to the Appearances Menu, there is no "Extras" option on the dropdown list.

   There is no "Extras" menu option on a self-hosted WordPress site unless it's been added by a theme or plugin..

   So us self-hosted users can't get the Tweet button?

   You'll need to download and activate the appropriate Twitter plugin.
