No events show up in calendar view anymore

I have used the basic-calendar for years.
Now the events are no longer visible in the calendar

The Upcoming events widget does still show the list (so they are all still in the database).

I can enter a new event and that then shows up in the calender, one time only. After a page refresh, it is like the others, gone.

This is however what the schedular.ics file shows:

Any clue, any hints ?
