no emails being sent at all (6 posts)

My web hosting service provides free installation and setup of Word Press. I had this done and everything seems to be working except that no emails are sent from the system at all. No email when a user registers. No email when a password needs to be recovered. No email when a comment is made. Nothing.

It is the most up to date version 2.1 and I have no special plugins installed. It is a default installation. I have only edited some section titles in sidebar.php.

The hosting service assures me that the PHP mail function is enabled and knows of no reason on their side why this should not be working.

Any help would be much appreciated. Please let me know if anyone needs any further info to help troubleshoot this.

    1) Every time you bump, you remove yourself from the "Topics with no replies" list that many volunteers look at.

    2) 6 hours is not that long. Relax

    3) Odds are your host might be fibbing a bit with the mail thing. Fortunately, there are TONS of WP plugins that will handle SMTP mail for you. Google 'em up. :-)
