I’ve read about moving multisites from localhost to a web server but nothing has quite covered the issue I’m having. The site will reside at the assigned IP while in further development.

I’ve moved site files and database content from a contractor’s server to our web server using FTP. I’ve imported the .sql file using MySQL, updated the _options tables from his URL to our IP. I’m able connect to the database without issue using a script. I can get the site working fine as a single site (so I know the _options tables are updated properly) but when I enable the multisite portion of wp-config.php, it returns an error establishing a database connection.

I decided to double check the contractor’s .htaccess and wp-config.php settings by logging into the WP Dashboard as Admin but the suggested edits still reference the contractor’s server URL.

Where else could I be missing an edit to allow multisite to function properly?

I’ve read how to post to this blog and I believe I’ve followed all the suggested rules but I haven’t seen a response. Is there anyone able to address the issue I’ve described above? Thanks for any time you have to respond.

Did you point the DB settings properly in wp-config? It may not be localhost anymore.
