No Database-404 Code for install

    I am attempting to create a new website. I created a new database on HostGator. I uploaded the WordPress files, themes and plugins and new wp-config.php file.

    When I try to access the wp-admin dashboard, I get an error stating there is no database. It does confirm that my user name and password are correct. I double checked on my Cpanel with Hostgator and the database is there but without tables.

    I went to mydomain.com/install.php and I get a 404 error.

    Now what?

    If your site is a new install on Hostgator just use their instructions: google ‘how to install wordpress’ hostgator. They have a one-click install that will install the DB for you
