No dashboard after installation

I have tried to help a friend installing WordPress on his blog http://www.vikestrand.net. he had something there before i started, so I deleted that before starting the install. I have rewritten the config-file as I should(i think)and it installs fine on his site. There are a wordpress site there now, but when I log on as a admin, there are nothing there, and I mean nothing. Not a notice of error, nothing. Enybody wich have had this experience before?
