No blog directory.

    Is your WP installed in the blog directory? If yes, then /blog/ is part of your address.

    Yes it is but I know there’s a way to remove the /blog from a page’s address, as I’ve seen it done before.

    Are you sure those webmasters didn’t put the blog in the root directory? Still, to try and answer your question, you probably need to read up on mod_rewrite to get the answer. It’s not something that WordPress can do for you.
