I'm working in a WordPress self-hosted sight that doesn't have some of the options I'm used to seeing. For instance, under Tools there is no Backup option.
I've viewed two different accounts, both WP 3.0.1 but the menu options remain different.
I know I could add a backup plugin, but would rather work with the WP backup menu option. Please advise how I can get all the menu options listed or help me understand why there is a difference in the first place.
Many thanks for any help.
There is no backup button. You are right, you can use plugins. Its not built in. I used to do it manually. I still back up my files manually. As for posts and everything, that is in your database. You can back that up manually or I like a simple plugin like wp-dbmanager. It emails me my db weekly, and also puts a copy on my server
WP self-hosted is meant to be fairly bare bones. Reduces software bloat, etc. Any additional items are done through plugins, themes, code, manually, etc.

Huh. Good to know. I must not remember adding that to my site when setting it up.
Thanks for the quick and kind response!
