    “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /home/content/c/a/r/carlaspacher/html/wp-content/themes/shadowbox/functions.php on line 160″

    I know I don't have version 3.0 yet; not sure which version though, can't get to that page right now.

    My site is: http://www.gllutenfreerecipebox.com

    Because I do not know what I am doing, I now have lost all access to my blog, including logging page. I tried editing the function code ith the theme creator's advice I tried editing the function file and messed everything up. I was trying to edit the body background code, but edited the header section, and probably incorrectly. This is how I tried to edit the code:

    function admin_header_style() {
    ?>

    #headimg, .headerblock{
    background-color: #66CC00; ?>

    After editing the background color I clicked on ShadowBox Options and got the following code:

    I am in the Editor which I still have access to, thank goodness!

    You are closing the function by ending the PHP script.

    function admin_header_style() {
    ?>

    Include a closing curly-brace before PHP's ending Tag, like this:

    function admin_header_style() {}
    ?>

    I no longer have access to the function file or any other theme files. What can I do?

    I copied the link to that file, just in case I lost access:
    http://glutenfreerecipebox.com/wp-admin/theme-editor.php?file=/themes/shadowbox/functions.php&theme=ShadowBox&dir=theme

    Do you have access to the file using FTP?
    If so, download it and open it with notepad and edit it.
    Once you are done editing the file, re-upload it and try again.

    Also, make sure there is no space at the end of the file. Delete everything after the last ?> in the file.

    Thanks for reply. I don't know what FTP is. I have Godaddy for hosting and they have to upload WordPress for me. Therefore, I suspect I have no access to that file.

    Hi there,

    Ask Godaddy for your FTP information which should include:

    IP Address (Could be you domain url too, without the http or www)
    username
    password

    I can then guide you through the process or even do it for you.
    Hopefully this helps.

    Thanks Yojance! If you could do it that would be great!

    I don't want to give my password, etc. online. Can you email at carlaspacher at yahoo dot com or provide your email address?

    Thanks,
    Carla

    Hi Carla, I would be more than happy to do it for you. Never give your password online, specially in a forum :)

    You can e-mail me at yojance at gmail dot com and I will take a look and hopefully fix it for you, if I can't fix it, then I will install it again for you through the FTP :)

    Have a nice day!

    Hahaha, you're welcome!

    I forgot to tell you what was wrong. There were two things that I had to change in order to get it working.

    1. Remove the extra space from the end of the functions.php file
    2. Close a PHP line correctly, it had the > but was missing the ? symbol

    Good luck on your site! Glad I could help you.
