We're working on making nightly builds available so you can see if certain bugs are fixed, etc. (like Mozilla). In the interim, I wanted to make the current CVS version available to those who would like the latest but aren't comforable with CVS:

This is not a release, it isn't even a beta, it is untested. It does, however, contain a number of bug fixes since 1.0 platinum and it is the version I am running on my site.
Woohoo! This is excellent, also quite useful when for whatever reason the CVS repository can't connect (like for me today)
whats the problem with mozilla? :o
I think he's referring to Mozilla's policy of releasing nightly builds.

@scootr
People who love to live on the bleeding edge of stuff can get nightly builds of Mozilla to work with, but they are not for the faint of heart. :)

If I lived on the bleeding edge, I'd be spending most of my free time updating the software on my computer. :P

(will most likely wait for the next "official" release)
As long as the bugs don't bug ya, no need to get the fixes.
As Matt notes in the dev-blog, we now have nightly builds: http://wordpress.org/nightly/
