Nextgen – Remove Links from different Shortcodes

    I am pulling my hair out today tryign to find a solution to remove the links from different nextgen gallery shortcodes used through out the site. I do NOT want to remove the link option totally and would rather not use another plugin if I do not have to.
    Here is a link to the home page where we are using 2 shortcodes.

    the gallery on this page is fine

    I was hoping that something like this would work but it doesnt.
