Support » Plugins » NextGEN multiple language support with qTranslate

  • Hi all,

Is there a way to support multiple languages in a single NextGEN gallery/album with qTranslate (or any other multiple languages plugin)?

I am using it next to the qTranslate plugin, but it breaks my page because the NextGEN depends on the correct request parameters for the page.

In my page I add the album [album=1,extend] for the english content but I insert [album=2,extend] for my portuguse content.

The problem is that when I am visiting the album in english it will look like: http://myurl.com/photos/?album=1&gallery=1 but the portuguese page should be http://myurl.com/photos/?album=2&gallery=2.

There’s no way that qTranslate can be aware of it. So, I was wondering if there’s a translation solution for the NextGen plugin as well.

  • I have a solution which seems to work well – and involves minor changes to the nggallery.php and nggfunction.php files (and also cloning, then modifying the thickbox-pack.js file for your locale). You also need to apply language tags to the “Gallery Settings” individual image descriptions and “Alt & Title Text”.

Alex – if you read this, can you please let me know how I can contact you direct, so that you can assess my suggested changes?
