    i use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery-sidebar-widget/
gallery-options-thumbnails is set to 100x100 which is ok for my gallery page using shortcode
BUT it is not ok for my sidebar widget thumbnails which i need to be 220x165, right now as i understand 100x100 thumbnails is used and streched to 220x165 needles to say it looks bad and distorted

    what are solutions to this?

    You may re-create the thumbnails:
    1. tick the photo and choose "Create new thumbnails"

    2. Width x height (in pixel) ?? x ??
    SET THE SIZE YOU WANT.

    3 TICK:
Set fix dimension: Ignore the aspect ratio, no portrait thumbnails

If you need two thumbnail set (different size) from same galleries.
    There are two suggestion:
1 I would suggest you to create two different galleries and create the separate thumbnail size.

    Remember to TICK:
Set fix dimension: Ignore the aspect ratio, no portrait thumbnails to avoid image distorted.

    2. Set the sidebar widget thumbnail Width x Height that you want.

    Hope it help.
