[resolved] NextGEN Gallery doesn't work with safe mode on (2 posts)

    Hi!

I already posted in the german forum but got no answer, so I'll try here again, hoping that someone has an idea how to solve the issue.

I searched the net and found lots of people having the same problem, but none of the solutions seems to work for me (for example because I am using a newer version as the one dealt with in some threads, etc.).

So the problem: I created a WP blog and developed it locally at my computer. Now I've uploaded it to the webserver, and NGG doesn't work anymore, because on the webserver the safe mode is active.

I tried to remove all the safe mode conditions from the code of the plugin, but still it does only create the gallery folder, but not the thumbs directory. It is not possible to upload pictures into the gallery neither (there appears an error that the images can't be moved).

I also deactivated all other plugins, as for some users this brought success, but it didn't change anything.

When I try to create all the necessary directories via FTP it doesn't work neither because as i said the images can't be uploaded.

In my case it's not an option to do all the uploads with external FTP, I need to have the possibility to create and manage all my galleries within the WP admin area.

There is also no possibility to deactivate the safe mode at the server.

Do I have any chance to get the plugin working under this circumstances? I saw that people had success with older versions and safe mode on, but I'm struggling ...

    I hope anyone can help.

    Greets,
    sunny

JFYI: I solved the problem. I changed the code of the plugin such that it works with a FTP connection right now. So all folders and scripts have the same owner in the end, and this way the safe-mode conditions become obsolete.
