NextGen gallery – does this work with Search

I’m not sure if this is normal, but the search on our site only searches for blog posts and does not search for anything inside our shop.

We are using this theme:
“my lovely theme 0.6 by mythem.es”

The shop items are all stored inside a gallery (the plugin for this gallery is called “NextGEN”).

How can I get the search to crawl through content inside the NextGEN gallery please?

There is a facility to add a description and tags separated by commas which I have done, but still this content is not found in the search.
