   I need to resize the images automatically, not just the thumbs, but the big picture.

   Is this possible? It seems that this is an option but not working. I checked everything, changed platform etc.

   I'm experiencing the very same problem here.
   Is flash upload working for you?
   Because on my wp (v1.7.1) it is not*.. doen't sound likely, but still - maybe any co-relation there?

   * error message only says "http error". Normal upload works, permissions are correct. But that's another issue...

   PS: okay, it seems to be normal that one can (batch-)resize images only manually after they've been uploaded: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/228536?replies=6
