Hello, having problem after upgrading to 2.0.40 (WordPress 3.8):

    – all gallery’s in all previous posts is not working, error message:
"Gallery not found. Please check your settings."

But they are present in “Manage Galleries”.

    – addidg a new gallery in posts by pressing button “AddGallery” shows screen with error in gallery selection part:
"Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /var/###/###/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/attach_to_post/mixin.attach_to_post_display_tab.php on line 236"

    screenshot: http://take.ms/1iOCP

    line 236 is (in IF cycle): $model->settings = $settings;

Adding $model[$i] = new StdClass; before line 236 is not working.

    – settings page looks broken, and it seems not working correctly at all;
    screenshot: http://take.ms/34ivJ

    – manualiy inserting code of existind gallery in post doesn’t work.

    – reinstalling plugin doesn’t work;

What steps i have to do to fix this situation?

SAME PROBLEM FOR ME as above:

Hello, having problem after upgrading to 2.0.40 (WordPress 3.8):

“Gallery not found. Please check your settings.”

Thanks for reply. Compelled to apologize, but I can’t include log in and FTP credentials. It’s beyond my powers till now at this news agency production site.

The main conclusion I’ve made couple of hours ago is that problem is not in NextGEN Gallery plugin.

    1). Directly the same installation package works fine both localhost server and another production hosting (very same version & installation package of WP, Apache & PHP, MySQL; very same base settings with switched off all plugins and base WP theme twenty fourteen);
2). After activating plugins – it’s quite ok with NextGEN Gallery everywhere except news agency site.
3). There is a number of another issues with correct work of admin panels and saving settings of other plugins (polylang, Simple Ads Manager, social share buttons and some others).
4). MySQL interaction issues with user log in & user rights at the news agency site. …

So, now I’m pretty sure that this bug report can be set to [resolved].

In case of detection useful info on this issue I will certainly let you know.

P.S. And i think, that for this news agency site bugs the best strategy is – massive bombardment, panzer attack, and total rebuild.

    More details about the problem:

    My URL: http://www.jonesbuildersgroup.com/cross-creek-road-malibu/

The legacy Carousel works but below that you see the note
“Gallery not found. Please check your settings.”

My Shortcodes look like this. The first works. The second (using NextGen Pro) does not.

    [nggallery id=7 template=carousel images=10]
    [ngg_images gallery_ids=”7″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_pro_thumbnail”]

Same thing here. Updated and the gallery not found link appears even though galleries are viewable and fine in wp. Any new solutions?

@alexalexus – Thanks for the follow-up, I will resolve the topic for you.

et al. – please start your own topic as obviously these are not the same issues that are being discussed.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Same issue here… was there ever a solution?

I am getting the error “Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/xxxxx/xxxxx.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/attach_to_post/mixin.attach_to_post_display_tab.php on line 236” on the in page add gallery screen and the current galleries are not displaying, error: “Gallery not found. Please check your settings” even though the galleries exist and the shortcodes (ex. [nggallery id=1]) are in the page.

    Nextgen version 2.0.66
    Wordpress version 3.9.1
    PHP version 5.4

Also, another issue, I am in Gallery -> Gallery Settings and the only option I have is “Display Galleries As: NextGen Basic Tagcloud”.

I don’t even know what a gallery tag cloud is? I just want a proper gallery, with thumbnails that link to larger photos.

@semidivine – Given I have not seen a report of what you are describing it would likely have been best if you started your own topic.

As it is, you may need to use our external Reset Tool plugin to correct this issue. Please send us a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) with your site specifics letting us know you are looking for the Reset Tool plugin.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

My problem was identical to the original issue listed above, so I wrote on this thread because I wanted to know if there was a resolution. If there was you resolved it privately without enlightening others!

Anyway, I backed up to an earlier version of Nextgen (2.0.11) and now everything is working. So there seems to be an issue from 2.0.40 on (I had the latest version.)

Let me know if you come up with a fix, and I’ll update again to the latest version.

Oh and what was with “NextGen Basic Tagcloud” being the only option to display galleries? That’s very strange. Is that intentional?

    (@photocrati)

@semidivine – As I noted, that is a completely different issue and as such should be in a new topic per the forum rules: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

It’s actually not a different issue! Except for the fact that I had not recently updated to 2.0.40 (my client was updating her own plugins so we don’t know when the issues started exactly) the ORIGINAL poster’s first two paragraphs:

    – all gallery’s in all previous posts is not working, error message:
“Gallery not found. Please check your settings.”

But they are present in “Manage Galleries”.

    – addidg a new gallery in posts by pressing button “AddGallery” shows screen with error in gallery selection part:
“Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /var/###/###/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/attach_to_post/mixin.attach_to_post_display_tab.php on line 236”

is IDENTICAL to my problem. Why do you keep saying they are different?

My only other ADDITIONAL problem, having “NextGen Basic Tagcloud” as my only gallery option is secondary, because it doesn’t actually matter what gallery options I have if the galleries don’t show up.

Is there any solution to the ORIGINAL poster’s ORIGINAL problems? Because they would help me too.

Why do you keep saying they are different?

    … because you wrote:

…the only option I have is “Display Galleries As: NextGen Basic Tagcloud”.

That makes your issue unique in itself. There may be similarities to the OP but you are not likely: on the same server; using the same theme; and have the exact same plugins active (with the exact same settings) …

… to quote from the link above:

Posting your own topic is smiled upon. Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

We would like to help but taking over someone else’s topic is not helping them or yourself.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Gosh, I really don’t want to argue.

I am not thread-hijacking, all I was ever asking, in lieu of writing out my whole saga (which I will if I need to), is what was the solution you found for this guy because in all likelihood it may work for me?

The best practices I’ve been taught is to search in forums for my issue so as not to have 10 different threads about the same issue. Also it saves you time, doesn’t it, if one thread can solve a bunch of customer’s issues?

    Anyway, have a lovely day.

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

@semidivine – The topic was six months old which means several versions prior to the current release … and to be honest I do not recall what solution may have been applied at that time but I can assure you it would have been included in releases after that date.

Given that point, if you are experiencing a similar issue now, it would be easily suspected to be from a different root cause thus why (as is expected in these forums) you are asked to create a new topic since your particulars will be different.

Having multiple topics for the same issue(s) actually helps to show the severity and reach of that issue, whereas multiple reports of similar issues with the same thread may not capture the specifics that are causing the issue for every site within that specific topic and with that it is a disservice to those involved especially if the OP gets lost in the cases where a topic diverges into many different issues.
