nextgen gallery

Hi
I need a solution in a hurry, so hope others have found solutions to the same problem.
I am an art dealer and tried several plugins before deciding that Nextgen gallery, as most popular gallery plugin by far, was my choice. I’m not a ooder, and am doing this myself, learning as I go.
Nextgen has been really frustrating; even after buying the pro version. i’ve ended up usingcombinations of 10 different “nextgen specific” plugins, and am overloaded with them.
My main question in the Iconic One forum is – naturally – does Nextgen have any known conflicts with the Iconic One Theme.
60 percent of my pageload time is due to nextgen.
I would also appreciate opinions from other noncoders of which drag and drop builder plugin they think is best/easiest to use.
I’m running the latest version of WordPress – as of 2/22 – and am using the free version of Iconic One.
