I've got wp 2.7 and nextgen gallery 1.2.1 running. I've also manually added the URL of the imagerotator.swf because it couldn't search for the uploaded file.
Now, I can't understand why no images from the gallery I created isn't loading. :(

I only have the Nextgen Gallery enabled and deactivated any other plugins. But the images in the slideshow still doesn't load.
What gives?

I have a similar problem is this person.
I'm using Thesis with NextGen and trying to get a slide show to appear under the logo in the content area for my home page.
Is this possible? I use the code [slideshow id=x w=xxx h=xxx] in the Thesis Hook. Therefore this would be outside a Page/Post. Currently I get an error - the site can be found here http://precisiongolfstudio.com.
Any help would be appreciated.

I also have this kind of problem with the Nextgen Gallery 1.2.1 slideshow.
The gallery and gallery widget work fine, but my images no longer appear in the slideshow widget, after I accidentally deleted (then reinstalled) the JW imagerotator (i.e. the imagerotator.swf file).
I am working on a local host, with MAMP.
In the options panel of NextGen, I defined the imagerotator.swf file path as :
http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/
In the slideshow widget, I selected the gallery I want to appear.
But the only thing I see on my page is a white empty square... where the images should be.
I would appreciate any help !

Hi Alex,
I'm having the same problem with WordPress 2.8.1 and nextgen gallery Version 1.3.3. The Slideshow shows only the loading icon indefinitely.
I have used your plug-in and it is excellent. Just now sure why this isn't working. Thank you for your time and an excellent addition to wordpress.
