[resolved] NextGen Galeries - now you see em, now you don't (9 posts)

I recreated some lost NextGen galleries yesterday. The thumbnails appear when I view the albums as administrator, and and full sized images appear when I click on a thumb but when I log out and come back as a visitor all I see are rectangles with the filenames. When I click an image the app hangs. Slideshow works both as administrator or visitor.

See Trudel's Photo Album 1934-1937 on the top menu and select from the drop down.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

If you changed the thumbnails or the images at any point (including exif or meta data) clear your browser(s) cache(s). Also, if you are using a caching plugin etc clear it.

Flushed em all .. No change. BTW when I try to open one of the broken thumbnails I get an access denied error from my CDN.

Using a CDN would have made your original post much clearer...did you set up he CDN?

Thanks. But the slideshows work fine. It's the individual thumbnails that don't appear and the links to the full size photos that gives me the access denied errors.

Spending lots of time trying to figure this out. There are very few photos in the galleries now but when I fix the problem I will be adding many more.

    ...
    But see update.

Ahhh. SwansenPhotos, you were right. All I had to do was add

wp-content/gallery/* to the rejected files settings in the W3TC CDN section. And Voila!

Thanks. Not much to look at now but when I catch up on getting the next few letters from the past ready to post, I'll start scanning again.

    THANKS AGAIN,

    Len
