I'm trying to set up a online newspaper with WordPress, and I'm running into a bit of trouble regarding the workflow (writers -> editors, etc).
Just a disclaimer - I'm new to WordPress and have no coding background, so please explain anything that's not in English :)
Alright, so right now, I have normal writers under the "Contributor" setting, meaning that they cannot actually publish posts on the site. The next level up is editors, who read over the posts and then actually schedule them for publishing.
Is there any way to add some kind of stage where the post authors cannot edit the text of the post, but the post is not yet live on the website? In fact, the posts don't need to be editable, they just need to be "fixed" in terms of content, but again, not live on the site.
I've tried the "Private Publish" option and found that the contributors can still edit the post when it's privately published. When the post is actually live, of course, the contributors can't edit it, but the problem is it's actually on the website for the world to see.
What I'm trying to do is add one final checkpoint just to read over all the posts before they go directly on the website.
Thank you for your help, and please ask any questions if you need more information.
