[Newsletter Sign-Up] how to : Error messages as popup and not error page ? (3 posts)

    Hi,

I'm really happy with the [Newsletter Sign-Up] plugin so far, except there's two things i can't figure out.

I've created a simple newsletter sign form ( Email field + Ok button, the whole form linking to my Mailchimp account )

#1 : When/If the user enters a bad email, the error message is a new page. How do i get to have that same message as a popup instead ? (Perhaps this prob is related to the general WordPress more than the plugin support itself but i'd appreciate the help)

#2 : On the email textfield, how can i add/change the "value" attribute ? (Not the E-mail label) It should be available on the Backoffice somewhere ?

    Thanx again.

    Hi Bashe_.

Unfortunately, I don't have as straight answer for you. I agree, the error screen is a bit harsh now, as it's taken right from the WordPress core. I'm thinking about a more elegant way to handle errors and will add it to the plugin as soon as I find myself having some more spare time.

Regarding your 2nd question, you're right. It should be editable somewhere, but isn't yet. Stay tuned for an update!

    Thanx for the reply..

I'll have a look myself regarding the #1 feature (Error message). I just thought there was a simple way around this. I'll let you know if i found something.

    Regards !
