• I have a newlstter signup page within wordpress that uses the shortcode to display the signup fields. Within settings I have firstname and lastname ticked to include.

I want however to have a minimal signup form in the footer featuring just the email address field.

Can I grab the html output from the newsletter page and simply remove the first and last name fields and labels or is there a better way?

    Thanks

  • Hey there Candell,

It sounds like you may be looking to have 2 forms on your site – one with Email, First Name, and Last Name fields + another form with JUST an Email field.

If this is correct, the signup form plugin only allows for settings to be set for a single form. So, you wouldn’t be able to establish two different sets of form fields with just the plugin’s signup form.

For the latter form (with just the email address), I’d recommend using the MailChimp embed code, which is found inside of your MailChimp account. MailChimp actually provides a super slim form, which is only the email address field. You can take this code and copy and paste it into the footer on your site.

If you have any other questions, let me know!
