    So.. I am attempting to use wordpress for my school's news website, to put the articles that we write online.

    I was to make all the articles Able to be commented on, but i dont want them posted to the front page, like a blog.

    I know WP is a blog CMS, but i think someone knows a way to achieve what i need.

    here is my dilemma:
    I want the Articles that we write to be able to be commented, but i dont want them on the front page. I want them to be Indexed into subpages, similar to the Page sections, but i still want them to be able to have comments, like posts.

    If you look around in your own admin panel (always a wise thing to do with a new tool!) - you should discover in Options > Reading: you have the ability to assign a static Page as your home/front page and in that case your posts/articles will not appear on the front.
    You still can put them in categories and have comments on them.

    thanks my friend..

    i have been looking through the admin panel all day. lol!!

    but i assumed it'd be in the manage section >_<;;

    haha thank you very much ^_^

    But i'd also like all of the posts to be on separate pages. is that possible?

    Moshu pointed you to
    Administration > Options > Reading.

    Try the A static page option.

    Of course you've discovered that every post automatically has its own single-post webpage in WordPress ^_^

    This is for your school's student newspaper? It will be nice if you post the website in the Your WordPress section of the Forum when it is online.
