I was looking at it and the content and flow seems fine, but it doesn't have much color or flair to it. Maybe that is best for a news site?
Also I saw no RSS feed which is good for a news site.
For your Gravatar you could make a square and then put your icon in it so it doesn't get cut off. I just see ND instead of Indy.
