    Good afternoon,

I've been having a problem with my WordPress site (www.keyofgrey.com) since yesterday. I posted yesterday, and the post was taking a minute to load while any other post took seconds. The post itself had a picture at the top, and a Youtube video embedded at the bottom. I removed both independently of each other, updated the post, and the problem persisted.

I proceeded to delete the post and rebuild it with the same picture which also didn't work. I then deleted the post and used a completely different picture, being careful to delete all traces of the original picture from the gallery and webhost (Dreamhost). Today, the problem still persists, so I put up a completely new post without any photos, only a thumbnail for the front page through the "excerpt" field, as is standard with the theme I'm using. I'm still experiencing the same speed issue as with my previous posts.

I have not changed any plugins, or anything else in my WordPress settings and I'm at a loss as to the problem. I've posted everyday for almost a year, and it may break my streak. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Sean

As per some previous threads, it's likely the Tweet This plug-in. I deactivated it (as per TechArtist's suggestion in another thread) and now my new posts and my homepage appear in full (vs just the header).

    Hi Sue,

    Your suggestion worked. You rock!

    Cheers!

I had the same problem, and removing Tweet This fixed it. What is interesting is that the issue affects either new posts or old posts with new comments. I don't post every day, but I got a spam comment that made it through to a year old post, and I could not view that post. I could, however, view any other post on the site. Creating a new post had the same problem.

I host two blogs, and they both had the same problem.

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you to SueB. Today my site would not come up unless I looked for a specific page. So I seached the forum and found this post. I took the tweet this plugin off and now my site works again. YEAH! Weird because I've had that plugin on my site for a week or more and all was well. ~Terry

I think the problem is that Tweet This uses http://th8.us/ to shorten urls, and that site looks to be down. Tweet This apparently does not handle it well. I've had Tweet This running on several blogs for months without issue.
