Hey, when updating to the newest JetPack version the player is not showing in posts any longer. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Confirmed. Newest Jetpack breaks Powerpress.

If the shortcode works, but otherwise player doesn't appear, something is happening to the content. Go into PowerPress Settings > Appearance tab, there's an option there to fix your theme, give that option a try. Let me know if that fixes the problems or not.

I've been working with Brian from the Handy Guys Podcast, he found the problem to be with the JetPack Share feature. You can either turn off the Sharing feature or go into PowerPress settings > Appearance and select the "fix theme" option.

The problem is occurring because the JetPack share tool is calling "get_the_excerpt()" function from outside of "the_loop". Offending line can be found in JetPack version 2.0, line 613 of file modules/sharedaddy/sharing-sources.php. According to WordPress documentation the_excerpt, get_the_excerpt, the_content and get_the_content are not to be called outside of "the_loop" (source: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt). Until this is fixed in JetPack, you will need to use the Fix theme option in PowerPress. The next release of PowerPress will temporarily auto-enable the fix theme option if JetPack is enabled. We'll keep the fix in place until JetPack is fixed.

Expect an update to PowerPress in the next 24-48 hours.

JetPack developers can contact me at cio [at] rawvoice dot com if they want some example code how to resolve this bug in JetPack.

  9. Or conversely you could reach out to them via support@jetpack.me and start the conversation that way.

Fix theme option, Go to PowerPress Settings > Appearance tab. Scroll down to section titled "Having Theme Issues?", in the drop down select "Yes, please try to fix". Click 'save'.

Email sent to support@jetpack.me referencing this and the blubrry.com forum threads on the subject. Others should send mail as well.

    Awesome.

The "fix" option in PowerPress is now automatically enabled when JetPack 2.0.x is detected, and will remain until JetPack is fixed.
