• I am new to wordpress.

I am creating a site to sell toner cartridges.

I have a theme, FlexSqueeze Lite.

I have the front page set up with an introduction video

I am using wishlistmember to control access to the site.

Question: can someone help me with the sequence of how to create the site? What do I work on first then second etc.

Question: does the shopping cart contain the layout pages for the products or do I need to create those?

Question: Here are the shopping carts that work best with wishlistmember. PayPal, 1Shopping Cart, ClickBank, Infusionsoft, Premium Web Cart, QuickPayPro, and Red Oak Cart. Any suggestions and why?

Question: I need some kind of search form for the customer to narrow down the the toner cartridges that they need. I was looking at the Multiple Category Selection Widget found at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multiple-category-selection-widget/ but I haven’t gotten it to work yet. Any suggestions on search forms? Here is what I want it to look like http://www.box.net/shared/hv9z30enm06q9m38d2m4

    Thanks for your help

    Matt

  • QuickPayPro (or Cydec) integrates best with WLM. Why? It automatically creates the user account and sends them login information. 1shoppingcart, infusionsoft, paypal – all require the user to redirect to a form and create the username and password. Just another unnecessary step for your customer. (never used Clickbank of Red Oak Cart before with WLM).

Premium Web Cart requires an additional plugin for $67, but it is pretty slick once you’ve acquired that second plugin.

Why are you not using a shopping cart plugin? This will help organize your toner products and allow for search within the product database? Are you using Custom Post Types for your toners?

“Why are you not using a shopping cart plugin?”
Because I don’t know what I’m doing but I must learn.

Please explain the “shopping cart plugin”. Such as what plugins?

I want to create something more than just a site to sell toners. I want to create custom features. I want to have a custom loyalty program.

Also I want to have a history page that allows the customer to order from that page.

I looked a e-commerce themes but they didn’t seem to allow me to do what I wanted.

    Thanks for the reply

Here is an example WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin. There are mixed reviews on it, but I’ve had success with it numerous times.

I understand your desire to create something more robust for your users – may need to look at combined options and possibly some custom work.

How does your customer loyalty program work? What are the incentives? Curious so that I can think of how the logic would work programming-wise.

    Kindly,

    Michael

Are you talking about the WP e-Commerce Plugin?

The customer loyalty program is the customer buys a certain amount of product and then they earn rewards such as local movie tickets, etc.

Any thoughts on my other questions?

    Matt

Wishlist Member is best for creating private access websites. While you seem to be heading partially in that direction, it’s not a complete solution. However, the shopping cart you choose to integrate it with, will also have the option to create the products you need.

All in all, I don’t know if I can respond to your questions with clear cut simple answers b/c I don’t know of an out-of-the-box solution that does what you are trying to do, PLUS this seems to be outside of the scope of WordPress alone.
