I have a mysite.wordpress.com site and I want to add a plugin. Where do i find the plugins directory to upload to? I have a feeling that this only works with a non free hosted version of wp that resides on my drive or is ftp accessible?
I want to install an im plugin like this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/im-online/
tia
This was taken from the WordPress.com FAQ
Can I upload my own plugins?
If there is a plugin that you feel is a must-have and would benefit users on the site then fill in the Feedback form on your blog! Tell us what plugin you want, where it can be downloaded and most importantly, why you think it should be included in the site.
All the feedback is read, and we're collecting the most numerous requests for implementation.
You cannot upload your own plugins for security reasons.

how come there seem to be hundreds of plugins online that specify uploadeding to this folder....for example... http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/im-online/installation/
Does the faq you site only apply to the free hosted version?
thanks
