Newbie Log In Problem

Suddenly I can’t log in to my website (the edit button no longer appears at the bottom). Password doesn’t work; cookies enabled; requested new password, reply said it had been sent but got nothing; barely literate in these matters, probably to the extent that I can’t change the code if that is necessary. Thanks in advance.
