Less than 24 hours ago I registered my first domain (using namecheap) and purchased hosting on hostgator. I set the entered the nameservers on namecheap, configured a MySQL Database and went through the wp_config and ftp procedures.
When I type try to access "my domain"/wp-admin/install.php I get the exact same generic keyword page that I'm assuming the host defaults to the domain.
Did I mess up or is it possible that I'm still waiting namecheap and hostgator to get things up on their end?
Thanks!
I've been digging for answers - am I probably correct in that I must wait for the nameservers to resolve?

how long ago did you set the nameservers? it sometimes takes a day to propagate across the internet.

It has been over 24 hours now, although I did try to re-enter and re-save the nameservers about 10 hours ago (perhaps they are still trying to resolve??)
I also noticed that that the "Remote Site" address bar in the right column of filezilla simple lists a / and not my site name. When I click open the public_ftp folder the "Remote Site" address line just says "/public_ftp" but not "my domain name"/public_ftp.
I have been able to access the wordpress files I uploaded and wordpress install through some kind of temporary hostgator url they sent me when I initially signed up.
Any help? Do I need to take further steps to get my url working?
you need to be patient. you JUST registered the domain. dns propagation can take as long as 72 hours.
