New WordPress user – various troubleshooting questions

    Please help. I use the scarylittle template at http://www.JeremyDelRio.com and am having several technical problems with my blog. I’m not sure if they are WordPress problems or template problems.

    1. Why does the format of some blogposts arbitrarily change? Most appear as I created them, with a title bar, timestamp, category lists, etc, but some are missing all of that. Even though I follow the same process, time and again some entries publish without everything.

    2. Why do some browsers (Internet Explorer and Safari) load the homepage “with errors” while others (Firefox) loads it correctly? The most common errors bump the third column loads at the bottom of the page, without all the elements to boot, like the blogroll, archive calendar, and more.

    3. Why doesn’t the search tool work on the homepage but it does on all the other pages?

    4. Why won’t the page categories below the header appear alphabetically no matter how many times I change the setting?

    5. How can I get rid of the redundant “away with words” at the upper left corner of the header?

    #1 appears to be an ‘aside’, rather then content/post so it’s obeying different style properties.

    Update: I fixed 1-2, but still need help with 3-5.

    FYI – Problem #1 was that the “Asides” function kicked in everytime I tagged an entry with a category that correlated to the default value “2” (in my case, “photogrpahy”). I changed that value and bingo, the posts are back to normal!

    Problem #2 was that I had changed the defaulty setting to allow my homepage to show up to 15 posts at a time. When I changed it back to the default value of 10, IE worked properly again.
