   Hi All,

   Please, I need some help.

   I run a Article Directory Website, in the past 2 days, there were more than 350 new registrations and about 70 postings were made...

   Every 6 to 10 minutes, a new user is being registered and some times it takes 15 to 20 minutes.

   But when i checked my Google Analytics, there were only 4 to 5 visits mentioned in the last 2 days...

   Please, can any one tell whether its a BOT registering and posting the posts.

   Please any idea. How to check this..

   Hi,

   I think you should use some captcha plugin.

   This would solve the spamming issue.

   Article directories are nothing more then spam magnets.

   I setup a new directory and had not even advertised,
   within min registrations started climbing...

   they are nothing more then programmed spiders sent
   out to register on wp / AD sites so they can
   submit their junk. It can take a very long time before
   real people start coming, if they ever do...

   i noticed wp does not have any signup confirmations, if they
   had this avail, then your registrations would be almost zero!
   or install caphcha...

   Curiously, MultiSite handles this a LOT better than single site :/
