• There is something I don’t find very logical, maybe some of you know how to fix it, or if it’s already implemented.

Imagine I have a blogs structure like this:

    -Main blog
    -Blog1
    -Blog2

And a new user likes blog2, so he decides to register in it, as a new user. If he doesn’t want to have a new blog, he will become a user of the Main blog, of if we have changed it in the Network Configuration, he’ll become a user of any other blog.

Do you know what I mean? If I am visiting Blog2 and decide to register, I would like to see new comments in it, to be able to add new posts to it and so on. Is it posible not to specify any default blog, but “the blog you have been sent from”?

If it’s not possible, I think this could be a usefull (even necesary) feature for next versions.

    Thanks

Sorry, this is the blog structure I suggested:

    -Main blog
    ——Blog1
    ——Bolg2

He still has to register as a user on the network, but then use this widget

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-users-sidebar-widget/

and he can add himself to the blog he wants.

Yeah, it works, but it’s a little bit difficult for new users.

The logical thing is that if they like my site about my university (but maybe they don’t know my personal blog), they can register as users of that blog.

Do you know if this will be implemented in the future? I found it ilogical.

Until this feature is working, I’ll use what you have told me, it works fine.

Thank you very much for your help 🙂

SuperAdmin can add users to any blog(s) with any role using the default-user-role plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpmu-default-user-role/screenshots/

User still doesn’t pick his/her blog memberships. But it will shove any new registration on the network into blog2 as an contrib/author if you set it that way.

User registration works the exact same way as it does at wordpress.com.

Hey, thank you for your answers, guys. I didn’t know there was such activity in this forum. I like it, lol.

I see, I didn’t remember wordpress.com user registration works like this. Anyway, I like the option I suggest. Maybe I’ll try to implement it when I have time. Because I think registrations for the network and for a single website should be different things. Or at least it would be nice if the owner (me, in this case) could choose it.

I’ll also try what David says, it may be enough for me at the moment.

I’ll read how to do it, and if I can, I will try 🙂
