   We are receiving a TON of new users and all of them are spam. Our forum is currently set up to allow people to become a new user simply by adding their email and password. Is there a more secure way to have people sign up that would ensure that there is actually a person signing up and not a robot? Maybe make them answer a simple math question, etc?

   Any suggestions?

   Which forum system are you using?

   You can use captcha system and this is one of the popular ones.
   http://www.google.com/recaptcha

   And you may be able to set this up depending on your forum system.

   You can enable the registration "Captcha".

   Log in the backend and go to Forum > Components > Login and Registration.
   Move down to "User Registration" and tick the box next to "Use Spam Tool for User Registration".
