[resolved] New Update 3.8.14.1 does not solve the mess from 3.8.14 (35 posts)

    The problem remains, the shiping calculator does not work properly!
    Once enabled it does not show the address fields.
    If you do not activate, then no shipping fee at all.

    I'm having the same problem. I am using WordPress 3.9.1 and just upgraded WP E-Commerce to 3.8.14.1 http://www.campamerican.com. When I put in a test order and try to purchase through Pay Pal I get a refresh and a message "please enter a valid state" in the "Billing" section. When I put in a valid state (any state) the process repeats with the billing state disappearing.

    Any solutions?

    Hi michaelisc,

    Taking a look at your site now - haven't seen this specific issue in 3.8.14.1 elsewhere, so I'll dig deeper and ask Jeff to do the same.

    I have the same issue as michaelisc. Continue to receive a "Please enter a valid province" message when checking out, even though a province is correctly added.

    This is absolutely ridiculous. My calculator hasn't worked in days and I am losing business. This is not the first time I've had problems with my cart either. FIX the problem!

    Update- I disabled all plugins. This did nothing to solve the problem. I kept the cache program disabled and flushed the theme cache- nothing.

    Update- switched to 2014 theme. Problem persists.

    You might have the same issue I had - here is how my calculator problems were resolved:

    First off, I only am shipping to USA, so on the Shipping Tab, I have flat rate setting checked and $4 entered for "Continental 48 States"

    1. Store>Settings>Taxes "Tax Logic" radio button set to "Apply tax when Shipping Region is the same as Tax Rate"

    2. Store>Settings>Checkout - scroll down to "shipping", grab and slide the "Country" field above the "State" field.

    3. For Shipping, make sure Country and State are checked to display.

    You might start with those settings just to see if it works that way for you.

    We're selling tuition so there's no shipping. Here's what fixed it for me. Your suggestion to slide the country above the state did the trick. Seems odd that this would be so critical.

    Glad it worked! If your customers are only USA, you could set up shipping as I did on the shipping tab, then the Country will only show USA and customers will not have to scroll through all the other countries to get down to USA. Then on "Products", edit your product by scrolling down and checking the box "Product will not be shipped".

    These settings are what I use for taking payment for attendance at seminars.

    @jasondyork try flushing theme cache from the Presentation page.
    Have you updated recently and what was the old version you had ?

    @mihai, took a look at the code and this condition can only happen if there isn't a shipping method selected when the calculate button is clicked. But the quotes aren't displaying on the checkout form.

    I did just update it. I am not sure which version I had but I didn't think it was that old.
    I tried flushing the cache but I still see the error.

    We can fix the error. But in your configuration It appears you don't have any shipping methods selected?

    @jasondyork the patch i will be submitting to the WPeC core has been implemented on your site and seems to do the trick. Please check it out and let us know if there are any ill effects.

    HELP!!

    I have the same problem at checkout as michaelisc, "Enter a valid state" in the Billing section after updating WPEC to 3.8.14.1. I've had several customers yesterday and today fail to purchase products from my web site due to this error. It only seems to happen when the shipping address is different than the billing address.

    @Jeff Pye Brook, can you tell me what the fix is please? I'm struggling tonight deciding if I should uninstall this version of WPEC and roll back to 3.8.13.1. The shipping calculator was clunky, but at least it worked.

    Edit: It's 10pm, and after two more frantic emails from customers not being able to order items, I deleted 3.8.14.1 and reinstalled my previous working version, 3.8.13.3.

    Would be great to get this fixed. I liked the new Shipping Calc function (and hidden checkout form until completed). Didn't like the need to select a single option for shipping if using WPEC Premium Shipping plugin tho. Seems silly to have to click a radio button for one option.

    Thanks Matthijs. I've downloaded 3.8.14.1 again, and made those changes to the two PHP files. I'm going to create a sandbox installation of my site this weekend, change the Paypal Pro payment gateway to Test, and install this to test. I'm not willing to sacrifice legitimate business to test this again on my live site, but I want to say thank you to Jeff Pye Brook and yourself for the effort to resolve this issue.

    So, for personal curiosity, is this error a result of a conflict with WPEC 3.8.14.1 and Lee Willis' WPEC Premium Shipping, or is this a core function conflict, regardless of shipping plugin?

    After update to Version 3.8.14.1 on WP Version 3.9.1, the shipping calculation doesn't update cart total. Here is the store:

    Daveread, I saw the same issue using 3.8.14.1 and WP 3.9.1 with Premium Shipping plugin by Lee Willis. When only one shipping option was presented (say, USPS Domestic First Class Mail) the single radio button was NOT selected by default. The user had to click it for the cart total to update with the shipping costs. Annoying for shoppers for sure, especially when they complete all their billing/shipping info, CC info and click "Purchase" and the page then tells them to pick a shipping option, when there's only one!

    We are also experiencing the same issue as others here, with a broken shipping page after the 3.8.14.1 upgrade, which has basically made our store unusable. We are now in the process of restoring our site to an earlier version, and looking at other store plug-in options.

    Same problem for us too after the 3.8.14.1 upgrade. We can't take orders at all now. The shipping & tax doesn't populate properly. VERY FRUSTRATING

    @Jeff Pye Brook, can you please tell us what you did to resolve the issue?

    Can someone please tell me a THEME that does work with this update that has stuffed up everyones cart! I am at the end of my rope with this, I have lost so much money in sales over the last 2 weeks because the stupid thing doesn't work anymore. If it is a problem with a theme, just tell me which one works with it!
