   Hello,

   I have make translation files in Polish language:

   mailchimp_i18n-pl_PL.po
   mailchimp_i18n-pl_PL.mo

   And I have uploaded it into /po plugin directory.

   I have set pl_PL language in my wp-config file.

   But I am getting text strings (near form) in English. What is problematic? Should I reinstall the plugin? So, I have to remake. zip package to do this? As I am introducing this into productive, working environment I would make only needed changes.

   I would be very gratefull for any hints what I have loss.

   Ah! I got your email this morning. :)

   So, in looking at the PO file you sent over, it appears that the message id has been overwritten. Instead of overwriting that message, it's mest to rewrite the "msgstr" area with your translated text. So it should look something like this:

   #: mailchimp.php:156
   msgid "MailChimp List Setup"
   msgstr "Konfiguracja Lista MailChimp"

   (Forgive me if that's a terrible translation, I'm using Google Translate)

   And here's how it should look using POEdit:

   I have made translations using n++ and I was sure that Im replacing proper fields.

   And next question...

   As I wrote I need only frontend translation,

   Is it required to fill in all msgstr's ? What in situation when I will translate(properly ;) only few of texts?

   No worries!

   We should only be translating the strings that are listed. So, if you don't translate certain fields, those will remain in English, but that shouldn't hurt anything.

   Ooh, I have filled in all strings, saved.

   But English texts appear all time on my page :(

   Should I reiinstall/ reconfigure plugin?

   You'll also want to make sure to update the MO file as well as the PO file. After that, you should be good to go!

    I have made recheck all settings and files five times but I have problems wth runninng Polish lang files all the time.

    I have had made new translation files using POedit.
    As you wrote on forum there is no needed to translate all texts I have written only front-end texts.

    About .mo file - I have made new:
    1. Opened mailchimp_i18n-en_US.mo file by notepad++
    2. Saved as mailchimp_i18n-pl_PL.mo file by notepad++

    I have not used any encoding edit features.

    About.po file - I have written from the begginning using POedit and saved as pl_PL.po file. I have not touch any options. I'm attaching this files, and I have uploaded it onto server.

    Maybe header of the .po file is problematic ? There are lot of comments, may I have missed something?

    Hey again.

    It sounds like something is not quite working correctly, so let's take a step back.

    After you translate the PO file to Polish (or any language for that matter), you'll need to compile an MO file based on that translation. POEdit has this functionality built in by going to "Preferences" -> "Editor" -> "Automatically compile MO file on save":

    I was able to create some very basic Polish translations through Google Translate and POEdit. After setting the language in my wp-config file, those translations did show up for me. Here's some examples:

    Make sure you're using POEdit to compile a new MO file for your translations, every time. Otherwise, the PO file alone won't render the translated text correctly.

    I know how the .mo file should be generated. Now. Thank you for your patience. I have been 100% sure that I can made only simple editions by n++

    i have the same problems.
    I found file mailchimp_i18n-ru_RU.po. In this file i want to change transaltion. For example, in file i have phase "Подпишитесь на рассылку", i changed it to "Хотите знать о скидках vanderstore?", saved file and got new mo file. I updated this files on server, but on my site vanderstore.com i am still having "Подпишитесь на рассылку" - http://vanderstore.com/blog/.
    Can you advise me what to do?

    Hey there,

    Thanks for posting! In taking a look at your site, I'm seeing that bit of text "Подпишитесь на рассылку" is in the heading area above your form. Is this by chance being set in your plugin settings? To check, log into your WordPress admin area, then go to Plugins > Installed Plugins > MailChimp > Settings. From there, make sure that the "header content" isn't defined with this message currently.

    If you're referring to a different message, can you send us a screenshot of where you're seeing message, as well as the steps you're taking to replicate that message? Also, can you send your .mo and .po files to mailchimptk[at]gmail.com?
