[resolved] New To WP . . . Need Some Help Modifying Template (4 posts)

    I am new to using WP. I have modified the default template to more or less get the basic I am looking for with one exception.

    I am using a "custom header" and I would like to know how to get rid of the default text that shows the name of the blog. If I just leave the text blank, then the name of the blog does not show in the footer area and I would like to keep the text down there.

    To see what I am talking about, you can see it at http://poa.cbserve.com

    Any help is greatly appreciated,

    Somewhere in your header you have a tag for h1, with a PHP call to bloginfo('name'). Delete that - you should be fine.

    alternatively, you could add this to style.css:
    #headerimg h1 {text-indent:-9999px;}
    this has the advantage, that the title is still available for the search engines.

    Alchymyth, your suggestion worked perfectly and it allows me to keep the title available for SEO - which I forgot about in my original questioning.

    Thanks again for both of the suggestions!
