I have tried to find the answer to this question--I'm afraid it may be too basic but I'm missing something essential. I am using Dreamhost and also used the one-step install feature to install WordPress.
I need to edit a theme (e.g., delete the search feature). I was able, through dreamhost, to find the FTP files, but they are read-only--I cannot edit them. I need to delete the content for the search.php file.
I thought perhaps I needed firezilla, which I installed on my computer, but I'm not sure that will enable me to edit the files either, and I'm confused by what to enter--I think I enter in my website address, user name, and the provided password from dreamhost, but I was afraid to do anything else without more guidance.
Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated! Nicole
