    Hi

    Thanx for reply.

I had started with the first step,i.e., installation.
Wordpress installs fine and i enter to main screen after login. (dashboard screen page)

But when i open up wordpress today , it will directly open up the wordpress site with address "http://localhost/wordpress/".
This includes the default picture and Hello world displays.

Not the one main screen having wordpress dashboard nor it take me to login screen.

    my pc details as below:
    i had wamp installed.
    PHP version 5.3.5
    Apache version 2.2.17
    Mysql version 5.5.8

I want to develop/design website for a clinic.

Where my pages will save in wordpress ?
How my design pages are different from main/default screen?
    How to reach them ?

I am new to web development, i had experience in Visual Basic 6.

    Thanx

    Hi
    Thanx.

But please tell whats the difference.

I had develop some web pages using html/php for clinic website.
Now i install wordpress for creating website.

i had wamp on my pc c:\wamp\www\clinic
in clinic folder i had all my html files(text files)

and now i had wordpress at c:\wamp\www\wordpress\*.*

when i start wamp, it will appear green at task bar and open up localhost from there. That display the page server confg./tools/projects/aliases
In projects, i had clinic as well as wordpress.
is this the website i designed by default using wordpress or else.

How one could save pages designed from wordpress and where are they located.

the "http://localhost/wordpress/" gives me my webpage
    but when login thru admin
    "http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin"
how i come to know about my website.

    Regards

But please tell whats the difference. I had develop some web pages using html/php for clinic website.

WordPress is installed on Server. It is somewhat 'intelligent'. HTML websites are static websites. There is actually no web page (this page) on the server :

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/new-to-wordpress-74?replies=x

That data is stored in MySQL database unlike your HTML website. Basically there is no real folder named :

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/new-to-wordpress-74

and now i had wordpress at c:\wamp\www\wordpress\*.*

Normal. Technically it is in www\wordpress\ folder.

when i start wamp, it will appear green at task bar and open up localhost from there. That display the page server confg./tools/projects/aliases

It should show default WAMP page. There is some wrong configuration or other software is creating conflict. Put the clinic site on a subfolder suppose named clinic under www. So under www there will be two folders :

    wordpress
    clinic

is this the website i designed by default using wordpress or else.

WordPress plus other softwares and WordPress Plugins including bbPress.

    # Basic thing which I have understood, you can not install WordPress on localhost / your own computer. Save the clinic folder contents and uninstall all whatever related to localhost installation, if there is Dreamweaver (or anything that you use to create PHP/ HTML webpages), uninstall that too. Restart and follow any method of below.

Here are various ways for your step by step guides (do not apply all together), Copy Paste the URLs on browser :

    Old way, using XAMPP :

    Newer way using AMPPS :

Smart Linux way on Windows PC using WAMP :

There are hundreds of step by step guided tuts on Internet published on various blogs. Also check YouTube videos. I can not give more non hyperlinked url of my own blog on reply, people will kick me out!
We are basically emulating a Linux server on Windows PC to run WordPress on our computer. Thats why its a bit complicated. You can install WordPress on a subfolder or subdomain on your Linux server to test. That is more easy.

Do not plan to transfer your local WordPress to Server, it is quite complicated for you.
