New Theme Up for Review (17 posts)

    I've modified an existing theme that I originally created for (don't laugh) pMachine. It's been modified for MT and Blogger, but only now have I attempted to dress it up for WordPress.

    It is here:

    The theme is called Orange Tulips. Once I get some positive feedback (i.e., once I determine it isn't misbehaving terribly), I'll offer the files in a Zip set and post that here as well.

    Thanks for looking and let me know of any problems you encounter while viewing it.

    I don't know if it's intended but the sidebar text is sooooo small that I can hardly make out what it says.

    That is odd. What browser and platform are you on?

    Back to the drawing board. This is what I see on a Win-doze box using Firefox:

    Thanks for letting me know. See? It's NOT ready to be foisted onto an unsuspecting public yet!

    I had hotlinking on; I just turned it off for you. Thanks for trying! (And sorry I'm being so "trying"!)

    Yeep! I just looked at it in Opera! You're right. I've declared a font size (13px) in the body; and percentages elsewhere. (See, this is why I like to hard code those pixels dammit!) It seems to just be the menu so I will fiddle with that some more. Thanks for your eyes, guys!

    Thanks, Shadow. I think I found the problem. It was the bolded section here:

    #menu ul ul li {
    border: 0;
    border-bottom: none;
    font: normal 55% verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
    letter-spacing: 0;
    margin-top: 0;
    padding: 0;
    padding-left: 12px;
    }

    This just goes to show that sometimes it's okay to grab code from another stylesheet, but if you aren't careful, it can rear up and bite you in the big one! That stray code must have come from another stylesheet somewhere. I'll leave the design alone for awhile and see if anything else crops up. If not, I'll probably release the Zip set next week. I'd hate to be responsible for singlehandedly burning someone's retinas right out of their head!

    The nits in the design have been corrected, thanks to the sharp eyes here on the forum! The Zip set is available for download at my testbed site:
