The first WordPress site I made nearly two years ago was for one of the bands I'm in: 'obviously 5 believers'. I have learnt a lot about WordPress since then and the theme was in need of a revamp, so I decided to put client work on hold over the holiday break, tidy up the site and create a new theme. There are still a few jobs to do but most of it is done. The idea is to keep it simple with the focus on the blog on the front page.

I really like the header and bakground design.
However, I felt as though the right sidebars almost looked like ads and I was wary on clicking them...
Very nice layout and design but as neodan pointed out the sidebar looks out of proportion. It should be smaller than the main content. It should complement the content not compete with it. Try reducing the font and spacing.

I'd be inclined to agree that my sidebar was too prominent. I've changed a few things now, so hopefully it has improved? I still have a few things on the to-do list though.
