Ok I have a website now that has been up for a year. it is a PR4 and the blog is a PR3.

My site keeps getting hacked so I want to redo the site with a new template and on a different server BUT keep the same domain name.

When I make this "new site" the URL structure will change as I am changing also my content and keywords so I know this is going to change my page URLS.

I do though want to keep ALL the blog page URLS the same SO...

    1. If I move my domain name to a new server with a new template and new page URLS will I still keep my PR value?

    2. How can I use the same page URLS from my old blog post to my new template blog post?

I want to start the transformation on 12-1 and go live 1-1-2013 to make sure everything is complete so I will have a coming soon page for 1 month.

    What should I do!

Is your website in wordpress? If it is compeltely in wordpress, it is possible to retain the structure and links as they are.

If you fail to understand or perform the transfer, you can always contact professionals to do it.

    1. If I move my domain name to a new server with a new template and new page URLS will I still keep my PR value?

If you are going to keep the same domain name, there are no problems. Your PR value is unrelated to template and designs. The search engine crawlers are concerned about meta information and text. Therefore you are welcome to go ahead and change your new server and domain.

For worpdress web hosting and servers check.

For installation of wordpress on (Dreamhost), web host check

    2. How can I use the same page URLS from my old blog post to my new template blog post?
You can first import everything from your database and later export it. Same permalink structure and perfect site cloning can be handled by professionals. You can check http://www.freelancer.com for open competition or contact http://marvellabs.com, the choice is always yours.

Hostgator does not have dedicated wordpress experts or professionals. They will support you through installationa and fixing wordpress if it is not working on their web hosting.

Question. You stated the PR value is based on the meta info and text. All that will change as basically I am chaning up my keywords and text so yes it will change

Also the only part of the URLS that will be the same (or at least will like to keep the same) will be the blog post. My MAIN PAGES liek about us, contact etc, those pages will change the URL as it will focus on new keywords. So with that in mind will I still lose my PR4 status with the new info im promoting?
