Hello,
I Recently opened my site up to new registrations. Im not sure if this is a plugin causing this or not. I am Using bbpress and Registration Plus Plugin.
Everything works fine you can Register and everything. When it send the new user email out the "your username:" is blank and if I pull up the user list in the admin panel the username is blank there as well. I looked in the database and the field is blank.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
In the Additional Profile Fields section of Settings->Register Plus, make sure the First Name and Last Name Fields are checked in the Name and Required Fields.

I had this problem prior to installing registration plus. I was hoping the plugin would fix it.
Any other Ideas of where to look?
Using Version 2.6.5, with no plugins activated, with WordPress Default theme active, registered a user, and the database table wp_users, the admin Users screen, and the registration email, all contained the username.

well I know that.
Im just looking for someone to point me in the right direction on where to look of where the problem could be in the registration.
Since the 'out of the box' code doesn't have that problem, suggesting your theme or a plugin is causing the problem.
If you're not at 2.6.5, take the opportunity to upgrade and in particular, follow Steps 7 and 8 of Upgrading WordPress Extended.
Only other thing I could think of is something weird with your wp_users table or the indexes for that table. Might make sure the structure and indexes match Database Description.
It is not blank, it is with spaces...this is a bug in wp and this plugin too.
If you want to restrict this type of usernames you have to modify the plugin. In this thread I explain how to do it:
