[resolved] Repeating and All Day Events (5 posts)

Trying to set an event (New Years Day) as an all-day event that repeats forever and am having more trouble than I should:

    a) Checking all day event sets start and end times as the same.
    b) event does not display in calendar.

After playing with various combinations of 'All day event' and times for non-all day events, it looks to me that there are some issues that need to be addressed. I've tried setting a start and end time to get around this problem, sometimes the change is saved, sometimes not. When it doesn't save, I get a 'page not found' error.

And, having to set a start and end time for an all day event defys logic.

Just figured out how to set up a repeating event that occurs based on a day of the month (ex: Thanksgiving-the fourth Thursday in November, Father's Day-third Sunday in June, Armed Forces Day-third Saturday in June, etc.).

Set the event as occurring every month on the fourth Thursday. Then, in the Exclude dates, pick the months in which the event does NOT occur, leaving only the month in which it DOES occur.

Kind of a convoluted way of doing it, but it does work and, at present, it is the only way to do it.

Turns out my 'solution' mentioned above, doesn't work. The event shows as a monthly event and all the excluded dates are displayed.

The short version of all this is that there needs to be a way to display an event that repeats on a random basis (random as far as ai1ec is concerned) - Thanksgiving, etc.

    Hi davejampole,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. This is a feature that a few users have requested. I will add your 'vote' to this feature.

    Richard,

Not the answer I was looking for, but at least I'm on the list.
