   I use wordpress version 2.0.2 with Yahoo's webhosting.

   Just recently, when I write a new post, it does not appear on the main page. However, a link to it does appear in the "recent Posts" list.

   please advise.

   Guessing you've probably got some type of plugin that is excluding the posts that belong to the 'Sermons' category from appearing on your 'front page'.

   you are exactly right. I removed the "sermons" category tag and it showed up on the main page.

   Any idea why it is doing this?

   Do you think if I delete the sermon category and then add a new category naming it sermons that the problem will be fixed? I do not have many posts that belong to that category...

   Probably not. What plugins do you have installed? Have you made any modifications to the query_posts line of code within your theme's index.php file?

   Haven't made any changes to the index. I did make some changes to the sidebar. (Changed "blogroll" to "links" etc)

   No plugins that I use.
